Tobie and Rocky = Poster Boys?

I was totally caught by surprise when fellow blogger Elmer of Elmer Loves Oreo and a few other blogs wrote a feature related to Tobie and me.

Thankfully it was a good picture, hehe

Okay, so it wasn't just "related" - in fact it was a blog post about our relationship, much like the purpose of this blog, as part of a series of blog posts Elmer is writing about what he calls The Poster Boys of Gay Relationships.

It's extremely flattering and sweet that he did this at all and in a many ways quite the honor given we're being compared to the likes of Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burtka. And he didn't even tell us about this feature beforehand! Gah!

So one again, thank you very much for the support Elmer. This really means a lot to both of us, especially coming from a guy who has managed to make a long distance relationship work for more than two years!

For those readers of this blog, be sure to check out Elmer's other blogs such as Bading na KolboyGuys in White Underwear and of course Guys in Black Underwear

A Year of Culture

I love musical theater.

I can't quite trace back exactly how this began. but it's definitely a true statement today If this were a scene from The Broken Hearts Club, then my love of Broadway and show tunes could definitely fall under the category of "Rocky's Obviously Gay Traits" or something.

And thankfully, Tobie shares this love with me as well. And thus he's enthusiastically enjoyed all of our theater venture together. After all, we're the guys who actually went all the way to Singapore to watch a show together.

I don't always bring my camera with me to such shows - it always feels weird to bring such things to a theater after all. Their use is highly prohibited once the show begins and I've always been one to play by the rules. But I still managed a few shots here and there on the days that I made sure to bring our camera along.

As I go over the year, we've watched the following plays and joined a movie festival to boot:
Cinemalaya 2011

Little Shop of Horrors (Ateneo Blue Repertory)

Sweet Charity (9 Works Theatrical)

The Lion King (Base Productions Singapore)

In the Heights (Atlantis Productions)
Still undecided if we'll be watching Atlantis Productions' Little Mermaid or Repertory Philippines' Peter Pan, but that still leaves us with a pretty full year of culture through theater. And already for 2012 we're mapping out another Singapore trip to try and catch Wicked! So exciting!

It's always a great thing to find things that you and your partner can celebrate together. And thankfully, theater and related cultural events is definitely something that Tobie and I will continue to enjoy for the rest of our lives together.

Another Musical Milestone

These geeks will be with the Geek in the Pink on October 30!

Jason Mraz FTW!

Jason Mraz is coming to Manila!

And just when we thought this year couldn't get any more perfect.... we were able to watch Kylie perform and sing our favorite songs, and fly to Singapore to bond with my partner's sister and watch The Lion King, and have enough funds to map out a flight come January to watch Wicked, and have tickets to catch the local staging of In The Heights...

Jason Mraz is having a concert.

Jason FUCKING Mraz.

Jason Mraz' songs have been very instrumental in allowing me and Rocky to voice out our feelings for one another back when we were living in lives that required us to censor our own words.  To have him have a concert in the Philippines is just a godsend.

We're definitely getting tickets.

I guess life really does just fall into place when you find the person you are meant to be with.

I'm Yours, Rocky.
Absolutely.
