Tonight's #BaduyPride was all about Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar, an intimidating worker placement game created by Simone Luciani and Daniele Tascini. The central feature of the game is a giant wheel that connects with 5 smaller wheels across the board that is more than just a gimmick. In fact, it's a central part of the overall gameplay and really does stress the impact of time passing.
While not the easiest game, it is definitely fun with that results in some very fulfilling gameplay experiences and we've yet to regret bringing the game out. Once you manage to wrap your head around the game's unique core mechanic of only placing or removing workers during a turn versus the movement of the wheels, then things start to fall into place after that.
