Vlog Ep. 147: Rolling for Quests with Dice Forge

#BaduyPride Mondays are dedicated to tabletop games and today's featured game is Dice Forge, as designed by Régis Bonnessée and published by Libellud. This 2-4 player game centers around a unique game mechanic where players are allowed to purchase new die faces for their dice, thus allowing them to potentially shape future rolls to fit one's strategy.

We've often joked that Tobie has terrible luck with games that rely on dice rolling as the main mechanic, which may explain our larger focus on worker placement and other euro-style games. But Dice Forge's dice-changing mechanic makes you feel like you have better chances as the game progresses, although Tobie does still tend to get weird low results because that's just how things work. It doesn't make the game any less fun though.

While we chose today's topic, we're always open to suggestions! If you have ideas for future video discussions, feel free to fill out this Google Form and your idea may be featured as the focus for an episode!
