Tonight's episode of #BaduyPride was all about the cooperative board game Paleo! This 1-4 player game was created by Peter Rustemeyer and published by Hans im Glück. This has players controlling different tribes of prehistory men as they explore the land around them and try to survive the many dangers of the ancient world.
This game brings together some interesting mechanics, primarily based around card decks that represent where each player can choose to explore. The backs of the cards give a hint of what may lay ahead, but there's no guarantee as to whether the card offers an easy opportunity to forage or a dangerous struggle against a ferocious beast. And how the different players figure out how best to work together to gather resources and ultimately complete their mammoth painting is what defines this rather story-rich game experience.
